In 2018 I lost my husband Scott McClure to a sudden pulmonary embolism. He was only 46 at the time. I had just quit my full time job in December of the previous year to start my own business and Scott had been so very supportive and excited about my business.

All was going okay for the first few years on my own. I missed Scott terribly but focused on my business. It wasn’t making me rich but it paid the bills letting me do something I really enjoyed. So I was making enough to just get by, pay my bills but not a lot to set back for savings. I had some tough times last year after a illness that had me down for several weeks and then this year it really all went downhill.

I fell ill at the end of April. Something was really wrong. I was very ill for a couple weeks but I thought it was sort of normal. (Thanks to Dr. Google) then passed out in the shower. I went to the doctor the next day and was referred to another doctor for some imaging tests. After that I was sent on May 17 to have a minor surgery and biopsy done to see what was causing the problem.

May 22, I found out I have Endometrial Cancer some might know it by cancer of the uterus. It is a common cancer but my tumor is the size of a peach and it is starting to infiltrate into the muscle wall. It is thankfully not in my ovaries or cervix but there were some spots detected on CT in lymph nodes and lower lungs. It is now, June 14 and I will be starting internal radiation in the next two weeks.

This has hit me hard not only for being a scary situation but also financially since I am self employed. I don’t have PTO or vacation time to fall back on to help when I have to spend entire days at doctor offices. Let alone the cost of getting to these appointments and co-pays. If my friends and fam could just chip in a few bucks, $5 or more to help with a co-pay or gas money or to chip in to keep my lights on or my water on that’d be just incredible.

I need help and hope and prayers. Please. Doing this by myself without Scott is the hardest part of all of it.
