The Smith family Dilemma,
Just found out that my mom (65) has Stage 4 Lung Cancer that has metastasized to the liver and brain. Due to the severity of the cancer, I had to quit my job to take care of her. I have been an over the road truck driver for 30 years and just need help getting through this. Since the cancer has moved to her brain, she has to have 24-hour care. She currently has to be supervised while taking medications while she still has the cognitive ability to still be herself and not feel like a burden to her family. She is no longer allowed to drive as well, and since she was the one who took care of my grandmother (84) who is also fighting cancer and aunt (63), who is battling heart issues, we as a family have to take that on as well. Currently, we do not have a definitive timeline for the treatment process, however, the doctor’s appointments have begun and we are going day by day. My wife and I are struggling to handle all the financial issues that are coming up. We will update this as a storyboard for good news and/or bad. Any contributions would be utilized for groceries, medications, and doctor’s expenses. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers while we move forward with this process.
