Hello, I am Linda. My husband was diagnosed with prostate cancer in May 2023. Normally prostate cancer is slow moving but we got the news that it was aggressive and to the point where the cancer was going to breach the prostate sac. Dr. Brock from the Guilford Clinic in Gainesville Ga performed robotic prostate surgery and removed the prostate, nodes and tissue surrounding the prostate on 6/23. He has been out of work since 6/19 and does not receive short-term disability due to he had just started a new job. I am the only one working and it has been getting harder to make ends meet. My grandson lives with us which has not made it any easier financially but he has helped with the house and yard. We have sold our vehicles and my husband’s boat to eliminate having those payments. We thought everything was going to be good. His PSA results came back 1.9, which we did not expect to be that high. Dr. Brock says the cancer is in the blood and at this point, there is nothing they can do we have to wait 3 months to see if the levels drop. We do not know what the future holds, but we are praying hard. He hopes to go back to work next week, but I do not know how that is going to work. He has always worked so hard his whole life now at 51 he feels life is over. Please keep him in your prayers.
