It’s been a really bad three years. First, I fell and broke my left leg and that started a whole chain of events and medical problems. I had 4 surgeries and resets, but my leg wouldn't heal correctly. The whole I was in the hospital I contracted CDIF and that would flair up three times ( the last time brought me to the brink of death ). As I was being rushed to the hospital yet again, my visiting nurse told me my heart rate was so low that he wasn't sure I was going to make it. I had him get my keys and hand them to my neighbor whom I thought was my friend and I could trust and asked her to watch my apartment and feed my dog. Because of so many CDIF flair ups, and bone infections the surgeons said they couldn't save my left leg, so they amputated the lower half of my left leg. That was November 2023. It all started in 2022. I was in the hospital and then rehabilitation center until March 2024. Come to find out from another neighbor that my so called friend that I trusted took up residence in my apartment and she had shady people coming and going ( I soon found out they were doing meth and smoking pot ) and the second neighbor said that my SUV was missing from my parking spot and I should call the police, so I did. The officer came to the rehab and we filed a report. He was doing something with his laptop and had a picture of my SUV with a little front end damage. He said that it had been seen around and they flagged it as suspicious and were watching out for it. He volunteered to go to my apartment and talk to Stephanie (neighbor #1). He called later and told me that he told her and some guy to vacate my apartment and he took my keys and brought them to me. I made other arrangements for my dog. The officer said that they were acting real nervous and said she said she didn't know anything about my SUV and the keys were missing. She didn't know what happened. But all the keys were together so she had to of given them to someone. March 2024 came and I was discharged and neighbor #2 came to pick me and my wheelchair and walker up to take me home. When I arrived, my door was kicked in and my bedroom window was broken. I noticed a lot of things were missing ie: approx. $ 400-$500 worth of groceries ( everything was gone), my laptop, clothes, shoes, all my toiletries, some designer colognes (3bottles), and some odds and ends totaling approximately $8000. I filed with my renters insurance and they paid out a little over $1500. I couldn't file a claim for the SUV because I had to let my insurance lapse because I exhausted my savings and I was now on disability. It has taken me almost a year to replace most of the missing stuff. I called the police and filed another report about my door and window and all the missing items, they said they couldn't do anything because it was my word against Stephanies and I gave her the keys. I felt at a loss. Stephanie, neighbor #1, soon moved away so I got no closure or resolve. No SUV!!! Well with contracting CDIF and bone infections I have developed some medical conditions that require me to see specialists, but I can't go because of transportation problems. I don't have any family and have lost touch with friends over the past three years. I have trouble getting groceries, my friend comes every other week and we take my wheelchair and go to the store because we can hang bags on the handles. So we can only get a little bit at a time. My friend doesn't drive so he has to push me. So as you can see, I am in desperate need of a vehicle. I now have a prosthetic leg and I am learning to walk again with it but it's a slow process. I still rely on my walker and wheelchair so I would need a vehicle that I can easily put them in and out of. I need to go to doctor appointments and the grocery store, etc.. I m hoping you can find it in your hearts to help me out with a dependable used vehicle so I can accomplish these things. I'm in desperate need.🙏
