Hello, my name is Wanda, I am 66 years old and Widow. I was first diagnosed 2024 with Stage IV Breast Cancer. I was surprised since I tested negatively for the Gene. I am currently receiving chemo and may have to have chemo for the rest of my life. I was devastated, since both my husband and mother died of Cancer. My mother had multiple myeloma, and my husband had Lung Cancer. I had to quit my job as a social worker to care for them. My parents moved in with me and my husband. My father also had Parkinson’s disease. This went on for a few years. I watched them succumb to their disease. My mother and husband eventually died 30 days apart. Needless to say, this was a trying time for my family. My father lived on and died with the corona virus. Cancer does not discriminate, nor does it know when to stop.
After that I was able to get on my Husband’s Social Security, Unfortunately, it didn’t cover all my expenses. I started living off my credit cards which led to more debt. As I tried to keep up with all my medical appointments my car broke down. I tried selling some items to a relative and they stiffed me. Now I am so far behind on things I am contemplating bankruptcy.
