Update

Today, June 28, 2024, would be Larry’s 64th birthday.

Last week Jim and I picked up Larry’s car from the ER parking lot. It’s now parked in my yard. Once the title is transferred we can sell it.

Dale and I went to Larry’s apartment last Saturday. Dale packed up some of his things and took them to Good Will. I went through whatever paperwork I could find. No life insurance, but I did find his car title.

Have we decided on a memorial service yet? Whether it should be just an informal gathering in a public area (Jack Lake, Eau Claire Dells, City Park). Or something more formal such as a church or a venue (Elk’s Club, Holiday Inn banquet room). Any suggestions?

The Fund has currently raised $2095.48 plus $50 from Jim and Julie and $100 from Nancy and Dan. I also received a check from Givefree.org for $681.73 which is the 1st disbursement of the funds and a direct deposit of $1321.65.

Thanks to all who’ve contributed so far.

Our brother, Larry Stewart, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 after a years’ long battle with cancer. He had just undergone a new treatment last month and was feeling better than he has in a long time. He thought he had the cancer beat.

On Saturday June 1 the cancer came roaring back and he was in a lot of pain. He went to the Emergency Room in Antigo and from there was transported by ambulance to the hospital in Wausau. While there he was receiving more chemo and blood transfusions. His heart stopped during one of the chemo treatments. They were able to revive him, but his heart stopped again and they weren’t able to revive him the second time.

The family is raising money to pay for his cremation and any other associated funeral expenses. Larry did not have life insurance or any source of funds to pay for these expenses.

The cost of the cremation is $2,025 plus any other related fees. Since we don’t know the final cost, we’re asking for $5,000. We will update if more is needed. If there are any funds remaining, they will be donated to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Any amount you can give will be appreciated, All donations are tax deductible.

Thank you for your help!
