Hello, My name is Kelly and I am 58 years old and I live in Nebraska. I have struggled with Autoimmune disorders for several years, the past 4 years have been the worst, doctor after doctor, specialist after specialist, test after test, biopsy after biopsy could not find what is going on inside my body. FINALLY a new doctor ran a long lab panel of different tests, after waiting for results for 37 days We have an answer….DERMATOMYOSITIS TIF1 POSITIVE, this explains the weakening muscles, scalding rashes, problems swallowing, but being positive I have a 70% chance of cancer within a short time. Referred to the Mayo clinic in MN as this is a very rare condition. This is life altering, also have DVTs both legs, my body is so full of inflammation, short of breath, SCARY…..Mayo clinic is 600 miles one way for me expected to have to stay 4-5 days which also means lodging. I have not been able to work since Sept 2023 due to looking freaky and no muscle control. Asking for help for my medical travel. I have cancer screenings scheduled, but need to get there. My life has been turned upside down as I cannot do all the things i enjoyed as i cannot be outside. I have scalding like rashes that blister and are extremely painful. Any and all help would be so appreciated and i hope to pay it forward as well. Mayo Clinic is the closest clinic with the specialists that i need to see
