To whom it may concern:

I am writing this letter to reach out for help for my four year old autistic son Trent.

It is hard for me to ask because I never ask for help with things, but I’d do anything for this little boy.

Trent was diagnosed with Autism almost a year ago. It wasn’t much of a big shock to me since he had not spoken more than 2 or 3 words. And he had certain quirks that fit his diagnosis. Wanting the absolute best for him, I looked for the best possible therapy for him. His speech therapist pointed us to Familywise; an autism learning center, and I got him in as fast as I could.

Since he started ABA therapy at Familywise, he has really flourished. Everyone who loves him and is close to him can tell. Each new step he took towards learning was amazing to witness. He really has started to come into his own. He’s connected with the therapists and he has made friends with other kids. He loves it there and he really loves to learn.

Trent’s dad has been in Iraq this year and it has been tough on all of us. I had to give up my job to care for my kids full time. Now we are feeling the financial strain of trying to keep up with co-pays so Trent can remain at Familywise.

I am now at the point where if I can’t get help, I will have to pull him and put him in regular pre-k. I can’t stress enough the changes in him since he started at Familywise, he has grown and learned so many new things and is responding so well to therapy. The changes in him since he started are immense.

The thought of having to leave because we can’t afford it, really stings. I desperately want to keep him where he is so that he can have the best possible shot at a normal life. This is his foundation and I want to keep building on that.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. It would mean the world to me if Trent could get a scholarship, or funding, so he can keep thriving.
