My name is Shawna, I am 25 years old and I have been a type 1 diabetic since the age of 2. I recently found out that my right kidney has not been functioning fully over the last 4 years and has led to the development of renal cell carcinoma and potentially kidney disease if not treatment or operated on soon. The doctors are wanting to take out the malignant cells and possibly put me on dialysis if they do not treat my twisted ureter which drains the kidney and operate on it to get it back fully functioning due to the fact that I am a diabetic.
I am trying to raise the money to cover the medical expenses involved in saving my kidneys. Both could function if a stent was placed in my ureter and if I could cover the costs of medication and treatment of the cancer cells in the right kidney.
I am an extremely hard worker, and I always have been. I recently started my own healthy meal prep and catering business and I also work 2 other jobs and go to school to complete my Bachelors degree in Nutrition. I would give anything to not be put on dialysis so I can continue living a healthy long life and live my passion and be there for my niece and god daughter who is starting kindergarten this fall. The risks of putting me on dialysis are so dangerous and it would limit my future in so many ways. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart.
