My name is Kristina. My 22-year-old daughter Katie was recently diagnosed with Thyroid cancer. She has already had the surgery to remove the thyroid. The cancer had already spread so she will begin her radioactive iodine treatment in just a few weeks. Not only does she have her own medical challenges, but her husband was also recently diagnosed with epilepsy after suffering back-to-back seizures and being rushed to the hospital.
Katie is a full-time student pursuing a teaching career and is the mother of a 1-year-old daughter. She was a stay-at-home mom since her daughter was born, but now that her husband, Kane, was recently in the hospital for his epilepsy, he has not been able to find full-time work. I have helped as much as I possibly can.
Katie and her husband are struggling financially with all of these setbacks, and in need of a little help to keep them afloat until she can return to work after her treatment. With her upcoming treatments, they will have 3 days in a row where they have to drive over an hour away to the hospital, and for 7 days following the treatment, she will need to be in isolation, which means extra supplies to keep her separated from the rest of the household.
Anything you can give to help them stay current on their rent, utilities, food, and gas to get back and forth to her treatments. Anything you can give for necessities would help and would be greatly appreciated!
