To Whom It May Concern:
Hello. I am 71 years old senior soon to be 72. I have severe persistent chronic asthma along with other health problems. Walking very far in extreme cold or heat is difficult for me. I live on the edge of my town and lots of places I need to go are further than I can walk.
I am in need of a used car. My Scion 2005 broke down in May of this year. It has 208,072 miles on it and needs an air compressor, starter. alternator, battery and windshield. I do not have the funds to fix it and worry about what would go wrong next with the high mileage on the car already. I had already put money into the car before it quit running. I have taken an Uber a couple of times but they are so expensive on my budget.
I make $1207 a month from social security. It does not leave me much left to fix all the issues on my old car and the mileage is high on it. I have saved $300 since May towards getting a car. I tried to get a loan to help me with obtaining a car but was denied. I have also looked into programs that offer to help within my local area with no success.
I feel bad asking for help since I am the one use to helping others whenever I can.
