My name is Isaiah Morris. I am a single man currently working in the food service industry in New York City. On July 26, (which coincidentally was the day after my birthday) I was on my way to work. While waiting on the subway platform, I was attacked, beaten, and mugged. Sadly, there were no witnesses, and there was no one who was able to give a description of the attacker or the incident to the authorities. The beating left me with several severe injuries to my face and mouth. It also caused the loss of a tooth and the destruction of some previous dental work. In addition, due to the severity of the injuries and being in the hospital for over a week, I was not able to work or earn any income during that time. My apologies for the graphic nature of the pictures, but I thought it was important to include them in this campaign.

This incident has caused me a great deal of pain both physically and emotionally. I am in need of help to cover both living and medical expenses. The estimate for the orthodontic reconstructive surgery alone is $15,000. Although I have medical insurance, it does not cover this type of surgery or cosmetic procedures, and unfortunately the reconstructive work that I need is considered by my insurance to be “cosmetic.” Being out of work has also left me with very little savings. I have no way to cover an expense of this size and am in need of any help that anyone can offer.

Anything that you can do is gratefully and humbly accepted.
