I’m John, age 68, and live in a rural part of Alabama. Im a retired mechanic and have been married to my wife for 38 years. I’ve always enjoyed fishing and cooking outdoors. I had to retire when I was 62 due to heart conditions (CAD). Then last year I found out I have lymphatic leukemia. That’s something no one wants to find out, but with support from family and friends, I came to terms of having to battle it.
I am asking for help for transportation and copay cost related to my treatment. My income is Social Security only and bring in just enough over the requirements for State Medicade for me not to be able to get their benefits. While Medicare covers a lot of the cost, I find it difficult and at times impossible to find a way to cover copays and even gas to get to all the appointments that are required for my treatment. With your help, it will provide me a way to be able to keep my appointments, pay the copays for doctors and get medication that is required. It will also help with the transportation cost to get to the clinics and still be able to put food on the table.
This is not something I ever thought of having to ask of anyone and doesn’t come easy for me. I’ve always worked for my families needs, but find it necessary at this time in my life. Thank you for considering my request and if you can’t donate, prayers are greatly appreciated as well.
