It’s a sad day when you have to have services for a loved one. Even more heartbreaking when it involves a child. To celebrate the short time we have had with a child in our world and the profound love he inspired. We are set back to acknowledge the immense grief of his loss. Early Saturday morning, baby Alastair was found unresponsive in his crib. He was only 2 months old. He started life with a fighting chance, battling the NICU the first week of his life. How excited we were when he took his first breath on his own and was able to come home. His parents, Alex and Andrea, being first-time parents and never thinking the worst could happen, are sunken in the worst nightmare any parent should have to face. They unfortunately have no money to cover the costs of services for baby Alastair. It was just yesterday that he was smiling and cooing in our arms. We can’t express the sadness this has brought upon us. We are asking for help in any way to cover the cost of his funeral expenses. And asking that you keep us in your prayers. This is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. Anyone who knows me knows that I have a little too much pride to ask for help of any kind. But this indeed is a special circumstance. It will be one of the hardest challenges so far that we have come to face. And just remembering the joy and smiles he brought to us and the peace he felt when cuddled in our arms. the animated expressions he gave us since day one will forever remain with us. He will forever be in our hearts.
