Mental illness changed the course of my brother Kosal’s life, but it does not get to erase the life that came before it. ❤️
Kosal was born on October 5, 1969, and immigrated with our family to Santa Ana, California, in 1981.
Before mental illness and homelessness became part of his story, Kosal was a hardworking, proud man. He worked at our family donut shop, saved his money, and proudly bought his own motorcycle. He was quiet, kept a lot to himself, and was never one to go looking for trouble.
That is the brother we remember.
Kosal leaves behind five siblings, several nieces and nephews, and an aging father who now has to say goodbye to his son.
We are raising funds to give Kosal a proper and dignified farewell—to allow him to leave this physical life surrounded by the love and respect he deserves.
If you are able to donate, we are incredibly grateful. If you cannot, please consider sharing our GoFundMe. Every donation, share, prayer, and kind word means more to our family than you know.
Kosal’s struggles were part of his journey, but they were never his whole story.
He was a son.
He was our brother.
He was an uncle.
And his life mattered.
Rest peacefully, brother. May there be no more struggles, no more streets, and no more pain. ❤️🙏
