Hello to all and thanks for reading about my journey. I retired from Early Childhood Education after 20 years about 2 years ago and had my dream PT nanny job. Mostly all fell apart when I was diagnosed in January/February first with anal cancer and then a second unrelated cancer of the pancreas. I am facing chemo, Whipple surgery, and lastly radiation. I lost my PT gig due to chemo and the ability to be super reliable as always. I am 69 and have always been in excellent health.
Little did I know that cancer would also devastate me financially. I do have insurance but a very high deductible to meet. Each infusion will run me around $225 until I meet my deductible of $5000 and of course it all starts over again next year. I will get an infusion every 2 weeks for an undetermined amount of time and then surgery when the tumor is in good shape. Surgery will keep me in the hospital for 7 to 10 days and then a very long road to recovery afterwards.
The money will be used to pay down medical expenses and for all the extra meds that have been prescribed to me as well. I need to continue to keep my transportation up as well to get to and from multiple doctor appointments some in my area and some on the other side of town, I would appreciate any help and blessings that I receive here and will continue to post updates about my progress. Tommorow is my very first infusion and I am so terrified of the effects of chemo so please keep me in your prayers.
Ms. Sherry
