My name is Monica and I am reaching out to you as I am currently battling Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC), Grade 3. TNBC, Grade 3 is a highly invasive and highly aggressive type of breast cancer, meaning it tends to grow and spread rapidly compared to other breast cancer subtypes due to its fast-growing nature and lack of targeted treatment options associated with the “triple negative” characteristic. Because of my history of severe reactions to medications and the plastics used in Ports (needed to deliver standard chemo treatments), I sought out a non-traditional chemotherapy regimen involving lower doses of chemo drugs, which carefully monitors for side effects and effectiveness of the treatments, and the use of alternative drugs and supplements with a lower risk of adverse reactions.
This circumstance has significantly impacted my ability to pay for transportation, treatments, and medications not approved by insurance. I am currently undergoing a low-dose chemo treatment from a facility located in Phoenix, Arizona. I started this treatment in mid-January and have already paid out in cash from a retirement savings account more than $40,000 in the past 30 days. It was my hope to not resort to fundraising, but I am quickly realizing that that thought is not a realistic one. So with this letter I am seeking assistance for costs with the treatments, medication, and airline flights.
I understand in today’s economy that being able to donate is not easy.
