- I am seeking assistance in keeping my family home. 3 years ago my wife and I started a rent to own through a family member. Due to issues we could not control we are now faced with possible eviction. I work full time and my wife is on disability and takes care of our children, 2 of which are special needs. We just cannot be without a home and we have invested a lot of time and money into this home. We have been given until May 31st of 2017 to either have bought the house or we need to move. Currently we are steps away from the mortgage but we need to come up with 3% down so that I can apply for a veterans grant for additional down payment assistance. Unfortunately the situation has caused us to need to finance more than we had planned so the down payment needed to keep the mortgage payment lower is more than we can pay out of pocket. I have tried every way possible to come up with the money but i cannot do it on my own in time.
