Let me introduce myself; I’m Alice and my friend needs help.
Larry was a very popular guy at the local flea markets; Silver Springs and Williams Grove, Mechanicsburg, Pa especially. He was outgoing, friendly, personable and a great golfer back in the day! My husband and I met him years ago and became close with him and his wife Jean. He was selling golf clubs (which Bobby bought a lot of!) along with many others items he was knowledgeable about and having fun doing it. Even though he already had some serious health issues, he powered thru and was doing what he loved, with his wife by his side. Bobby (my husband) passed away on March 31st and Larry passed away just 3 days later on April 3rd. We were out of touch for a while as both men were very sick. Larry had gone to the hospital and the Emergency Room multiple times, racking up very large medical bills; then he got worse and had to go into Hospice after he fell down the stairs and broke his leg, among other issues. His wife Jean absolutely hated that but she just couldn’t take care of him by herself! Now, along with the grief and stress involved, she is unable to catch up on all the bills and has fallen behind. When people are elderly and don’t have much, the health system seems to take advantage of them. We are hoping that people who knew him and maybe even some who don’t will care enough to donate what they can to help and maybe send some prayers for Jean and I too. Please help, if you are able, to get these medical bills paid so Jean isn’t saddled with this debt. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for contributing to the funds for Larry and Jean, who I have been friends with for many, many years. We are both extremely heart broken and hate to ask for help, but don’t see any other way to get thru this tragedy of events. It is just awful that people have to go to a public forum to ask for help to get thru this part of life, but that is what they are here for! I really wish our individual states could be more helpful when it comes down to the older folks that need help with the end of life situations.
