Most of you who know me know that I was involved in a near-fatal car accident in March 2024. The accident left me with paraplegia due to a spinal cord injury. While I have regained some movement through extensive therapy, I continue to face significant challenges every day. The biggest ongoing issues are neurogenic bladder and bowel complications, as well as paralysis in my feet, which prevents me from driving.
Since the accident, my life has been filled with multiple medical appointments each week, including physical therapy to relearn how to walk, testing related to paralyzed organs, and ongoing care focused on improving my quality of life. My dad works about an hour away, so he is not always available to drive me to these appointments. Living in an area that experiences snow for much of the year also makes transportation especially difficult.
Because of these circumstances, we purchased a fully enclosed mobility scooter so I could safely travel to and from appointments independently. Unfortunately, insurance does not cover equipment like this, so we have been making monthly payments out of pocket.
I was approved for disability income in November 2025, and since then much of that income has gone toward the scooter payment. Disability benefits are limited, and after making those payments I often struggle to afford the medical supplies required for managing my neurogenic bladder and bowel conditions. Recently, my dad’s work hours were also significantly reduced, creating additional financial strain.
I’m asking for help paying off the remaining balance on the mobility scooter. Once it is paid off, those monthly funds can go directly toward the medical supplies and care I need to maintain my health and independence. Thank you for reading, sharing, praying, or supporting in any way.
