If you’re reading this, it’s because breast cancer has touched our lives in some way. My name is Rita, and I’ve created this campaign for someone who means the absolute world to me—Carli Peters, affectionately known as “Madre” or “Fancy” to those lucky enough to know her.
Carli is the kind of person who makes life brighter just by being in it. At 41, she’s not just a mother—she’s a best friend, a protector, and an inspiration to her incredible 23-year-old daughter, Hayley. Every bit of love and strength Carli has poured into her daughter is now what we hope to pour back into her.
On May 8, 2025, Carli’s world shifted in a way no one ever wants. She was diagnosed with stage 2 invasive ductal carcinoma, grade 3—an aggressive form of breast cancer that demands immediate action. In just a few short weeks, she’ll undergo a double mastectomy. Following that, she’ll begin five years of hormone therapy, leading to early menopause. The speed at which everything is happening is terrifying, and the financial burden adds even more weight to an already unbearable load.
If you know Carli, you know that she has always been the one to show up. She’s the friend who drops everything when you need her. She’s the listening ear when your heart is heavy, the first to celebrate your victories, and the one who will remind you of your worth when you forget. She was my saving grace when I lost my husband, walking with me through grief like no one else could. She is my angel, my family, and the strongest woman I know.
Now, Carli needs us. Her recovery will take time, and it will leave her unable to work. She has spent her life helping others, and now it’s time for us to help her. To ensure she heals with peace and security, I’ve compiled a list of essentials she will need along with their costs.
If you can contribute in any way—whether financially, through prayers, or simply by sharing this with others—it would mean the world to Carli. She is fighting for her future, for her daughter, and for the chance to live the beautiful life she so deeply deserves.
Thank you for your kindness, your generosity, and your love. We are beyond grateful.
