- I am a 41 year old single mother with three children. My children’s ages are one son aged 21, another son aged 19 and a daughter aged 17. I went into the emergency room due to a weakness on the right side of my body. Multiple tests were ran and it was revealed that I had a cancerous tumor on my brain that was putting pressure on my brain and causing the weakness on the right side of my body. I was diagnosed with brain and lung cancer at that time. In addition to having a tumor on my brain, I had a cancer mass on my right lung. Since then, I have had to undergo two major operations, first brain surgery and then the upper lobe of my right lung. I have not been able to work therefore I have no income during this time. I have been unable to work over five months. I honestly hate not being able to be independent and taking care of myself. Household as well as, medical bills are adding up. My children have jobs and try to contribute to bills as much as possible, but between going to school and helping to make sure I get to all of my doctor appointments it is truly hard. Just getting an Uber or Lyft to get to the doctor is very expensive on its own. I am asking for financial gifts to help me get through this already stressful and scary time.
