My name is Shamon, and I am a 42 year old husband and father trying to rebuild my life after years of financial struggle.
I became a father at a young age and made poor decisions in my early life that led to multiple child support cases. I take responsibility for those mistakes. Over time, I fell behind on payments and accumulated a large amount of arrears that I have been carrying for most of my adult life. This debt has followed me for over 20 years and has made it difficult to fully move forward no matter how hard I have worked.
Throughout my life, I have tried to stay employed and provide for myself and my family, but the constant deductions from my paycheck and legal consequences tied to my child support debt have made stability hard to maintain. At times, I have even been incarcerated because of the inability to keep up with the overwhelming balance.
Now I am married and have a 10 year old daughter with my wife. My deepest desire is to be present, stable, and responsible for my current family while also continuing to do right by my past responsibilities. I am not running from my past, but I am trying to finally break free from the cycle it has placed me in.
Recently, things became even more difficult when my bank account was frozen and the remaining funds were taken due to enforcement actions tied to my child support case. This left my family in an immediate financial crisis.
Right now, my family is in urgent need of help covering basic living expenses while I continue working and trying to stabilize our situation.
Even though I am employed, ongoing wage garnishments take a large portion of my income, leaving very little to cover rent, utilities, groceries, transportation, and basic household needs. The recent freeze on my bank account made it impossible to rely on the small savings we had built.
I have been actively working and doing everything I can to stay afloat, but the combination of past debt and current deductions has created a situation where we are constantly trying to catch up instead of getting ahead. I am also exploring long term solutions to become financially stable and reduce the impact of this debt on my family’s future.
The funds raised will go directly toward immediate essential expenses, including:

- Transportation costs so I can continue working
