Hello, I’m Brenda. I’m a medical worker and I’m navigating the Triple Negative Breast Cancer journey.
I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer last year after having had a mammogram and ultrasound guided biopsy. I had received specialized cancer treatment including chemotherapy and surgical port placement in order to receive the advanced chemotherapy cycles. It was a very painful and seriously ill journey with fatigue that brought me to a stand still at times. Careful dietary choices, energy expenditure strategies, exercise and rest were necessary in order to carry out activities of daily living. I felt so acutely ill; I would have given up had it not been for the medical management and encouragement that I had received at the cancer center and hospital. It was a miracle I completed those chemotherapy cycles and made it to surgery. I was grateful to finally have had the tumor removed before Christmas and looked forward to healing. Surgeries, diagnostic testing and laboratory services. ❤Remember to get a mammogram. Regular screening can help to detect breast cancer early while it may be treatable. American Cancer Society and U.S. Preventive Services Task Force recommendations are to have a mammogram done annually and biannually beginning at age 40 through 74.
