I am a 75-year-old mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Currently, I care for two of my great-grandsons: one is 8 years old, whom I have looked after since he was 3, and the other is 17, whom I adopted when he was 5; I have been with him since birth. Both boys face challenges, and the only assistance I receive is monthly food stamps.
My ex-husband was supposed to pay me $1,500 a month in support, but I have lost contact with him and no longer know his whereabouts. My monthly mortgage payment was $1,975, while my income is only $1,500. Recently, I was blessed to receive a loan modification that reduced my payment to $1,245. I made that payment this month, and I believe that if I can just catch up on my power bill, I will experience some relief. Right now I am stressed beyond belief and anyone’s comprehension
I also took out a loan on my car, to help pay bills which I have been paying off for over three years big mistake. Unfortunately, the amount I borrowed has not decreased due to the high interest rate. Additionally, I borrowed from a company called Makaw to keep the lights on, but that has turned into a nightmare also. I have tried every agency available to me for help. I have until Monday to pay my power bill, and Georgia Power has informed me that there is nothing they can do. Once the lights go off I will need to pay a restoral fee and the bill, It just keeps getting worse and out of control. Please I need help. I never thought my life at this late stage would become this complicated. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. I thank you and God bless you in advance for your kind consideration. Thank You
