Hi, my name is Gavin. I’m a 16-year-old high school student doing everything I can to support my family during an extremely difficult time.
Over the past few years, we’ve gone through more than most people can imagine. My family has faced serious financial struggles and has been on the verge of homelessness more than once. My mom is disabled and currently unable to work, and my dad hasn’t been in the picture for over five years. It’s just me, my older brother, my younger brother, and my mom trying to get by together.
Right now, our only source of income comes from small earnings my mom makes by playing games on her phone. It’s not enough to cover everything we need, and things have been incredibly tight. I want to help take some of the weight off her shoulders—and I have a plan to do just that.
I’ve always loved cars, and I’m passionate about working with them. My dream is to start a small car detailing business in my area so I can earn money, learn responsibility, and support my family. I’ve already researched what I’ll need to get started, but the startup costs for equipment and supplies are just too much for us right now.
