My name is Emmy, and I’m 54 . I am a teacher aide. I am a mother of 3. Two boys and a girl. Two of them are living with me. My daughter of 25 and my young son 21. Both have jobs but it is not enough to help me out. I was diagnosed with breast cancer on March 2026. On June 5th, 2026 I had a breast reconstruction on my left breast. Since then I was out of work. I have been struggling with my bills, rent, and food. I have a lot of doctor’s appointments that also make me be out of work. I had a tissue expander which was put on my left breast that June 5th. The tissue expander did not work on me. It got an infection and there was no improvement with antibiotics. My doctor decided to remove it. On September 15, 2026 I got my surgery to remove my tissue expander. With all this happening with me I am not able to go back to work. I will be facing chemotherapy on October 2026.
It is very difficult for me to get to my appointments because I don’t have a car. My transportation is the metro bus I spend more than $5 to go and come back. Most of the time I need to take two buses to get to my breast doctor office. My goal is to reach at least $5,000 for my utilities bills, rent, and food. I also have fibromyalgia which is a condition that affects your joints. This could give you pain in any part of your body. It is difficult for me to stand or sit for a long period of time. I have had this condition for years now. I have to take medication before bed time. My goal is to reach at least $5,000 for my expenses like my utilities bills, rent, and food. I go to different food pantries but they don’t give you enough for the month. I will be grateful for any donations you can give. Thank you in advance.
