Dawn Gates is a nurse practitioner who is fighting breast cancer for the second time. Her dream was to become a nurse practitioner and she accomplished this while fighting breast cancer in 2013/14. Dawn’s recurrence, diagnosed in June 2016, has caused her to be unable to work. Her diagnosis is metastatic breast cancer and complex regional pain syndrome of the right arm. (CRPS). So, we are fighting for Dawn here!
Currently Dawn travels to Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Zion, IL (north of Chicago) 3 times a month for appointments, scans, and chemotherapy. Furthermore, Dawn will be traveling to Irvine, California to seek treatment for the Complex Regional Pain Syndrome in her right arm. The insurance will not pay for any of this treatment and it will be all out of pocket. Any donations would be so greatly appreciated to help with travel to and from Zion and more importantly the non-covered treatment in California. Thus, Dawn is a fighter as we all know and she will win this battle with God on her side!
