Hello, I am embarrassed to admit that I need help. Its with humility that I write this asking for help. I have always been the person to give to others and never ask for help. I have worked for over 25 years as a CNA and now finding it hard to admit that I can’t work at 44 years of age. I got my cancer diagnosis while in another state away from family and friends this past April. It’s been surprising to say the least. I definitely had no intentions of settling here. I worked my whole life and have to divert from my goal again. Cancer has not been an easy situation to say the least. I go weekly for treatments and have several months to go. I’ve already lost a lot. My fiancé left after my second treatment. My son is coping well but I see how this is affecting him negatively. He is a great kid and checks on me constantly during the day. I wish there was more I could do make him feel better while watching me go through this. Life is always surprising if you are blessed enough to live long. I never thought that I would be on this side of healthcare at this point in life. The treatment is planned to last through Christmas including surgery and radiation. I have not been able to work since my first treatment. My rent has compiled to three months behind now. I have tried local organizations but all are out of funding but one, which I have a appointment with this week. They have already said that their ability is only for one months rent. In the meantime my landlord is understandably tired of waiting for me to get back on track. This is something that I contemplated writing and asking for but I am afraid that I will get a knock on the door any day now. If you can help with any amount, I would be grateful. This too shall pass.
