Devastating illnesses destroyed my teeth and I’m desperate for new ones.
I am a 53 yr old wife, mother and grandmother. We’ve been married for 25 yrs and have 2 sons, a daughter, 4 beautiful, intelligent granddaughters and 1 handsome, riotous grandson. I have been on social security disability since 2002 and do have Medicare with the add on of united healthcare. My insurance provides me with $1,000 of coverage per year. I am not on my husband’s insurance because it has a $7,500 deductible and then doesn’t cover much, it makes my prescriptions very expensive and doesn’t cover dentures at all and because it would be my primary it causes my insurance not to pay. He is a semi-truck driver and in august he fell out of the back of an overloaded trailer and broke his back in two places. He just went back to work, but he can’t drive a truck so he’s working driving a forklift in a warehouse. I have spent the last 3 months debating on whether or not to do this as I hate feeling like I’m begging for others to solve my problem; however, I am desperate as I’ve been without teeth for 2 years and it seriously exasperates some of my other medical issues. The information I’m about to share may sound impossible for 1 person to be dealing with it is all true. I’ve often joked about the discount DNA I must have gotten from both sides of my family and that I could be the subject of a medical book about strange things Dr’s have never seen before. I’ll give a lot of information as I don’t expect anyone to help me without full information. I’ll start with my diagnoses and move on to surgeries and medications as all have helped bury us in bills as well as contribute to me going from what my dentist said was some of the prettiest teeth with never having had braces to having no teeth and bone deterioration that’s causing my face to fall back. I have the following diagnoses:
Fibromyalgia, small fiber neuropathy, Endometriosis, Carpel Tunnel, Lesion of Ulnar Nerve, Osteoarthritis, Anemia, Hypomagnesemia, protein deficiency, severe malnutrition, neurologic disorder of lumbar intervertebral disc, narcolepsy/cataplexy, insomnia, high blood pressure, high heart rate, lumbago with sciatica, vitamin d deficiency, cobalamin deficiency, partial stomach removal with partial removal and rerouting of intestines, sections of collapsing intestines, severe bleeding ulcers, pancreatitis, temporal mandibular joint disfunction, seizures, right hip deformation, acid reflux, Keloids (excessive scar tissue growth), short term memory issues, deterioration of sacral joints, nodules in both lungs, body won’t hold potassium, eczema, and big surprise major depressive disorder and anxiety disorder.
The medications I take daily for these issues are: Duloxetine 1 X per day, Zofran as needed, Hydrocodone 4 X, Xanax 3 X, Amitriptyline 1 X, 81 mg aspirin 1 X, Calcium – Vitamin D, Cyclobenzaprine 2 X, Escitalopram 1 X, Estradiol 1 X, Magnesium oxide 1 X, Meloxicam 1 X, Metoprolol 1 X, Adult multi vitamin 1 X, Pantoprazole 2 X, Quetiapine 1 X, Carafate 4 X, Aldactone 1 X, Bentyl 2 X, Adderall xr 1 X, Potassium 1 X.
Surgeries – Tonsils and Adenoids, Tubes in both ears twice, Exploratory Appendectomy, Scar tissue removal and ovarian wedge cuts (I was born without holes in my ovaries), Tumor removal right neck. Gastric bypass, Hysterectomy, Gallbladder removal, Gastric J tube (feeding tube) placed from lower stomach into intestine right under stomach, lots of upper endoscopy to balloon the opening out of the stomach so all my food doesn’t come right back up. I was getting it done every 6 weeks to 3 months at $300 each time but when they raised it to $1,700, I told them I’d just have to starve. Part of the problem is that without teeth I can’t chew my food well enough. E.R.C.P . Right and left thumb CMC arthroplasty with tight rope endobutton technique, both thumbs trapezium excision, both hands carpal tunnel release and a few weeks ago had 2 pins put in my pinky where I broke both bones between the top and middle knuckles. I’m attaching information and pictures. The dentist says I need to have 6 posts placed into my jawbone before I get my teeth to stop the bone loss, fun part is that they run $3,000 each. Thank you for hanging in there with me through all this information and anything anyone can do would be greatly appreciated. Even if you can’t donate, please share with as many people as possible, that would help a great deal.
