I am currently in stage 5 kidney failure. I have to get dental work to get on the transplant list. I’m on home peritoneal dialysis. This is very challenging as far as quality of life goes but it is the best option available. with this in mind I have been forced to deal with dental issues that i was hoping to put off until I could afford it. That day never seems to come and now it is more of an imperative.
Challenges are being faced, and it is with vulnerability that my personal challenge is shared. For the past several years, there have been severe dental issues impacting every aspect of life. The constant pain makes eating, speaking, and even sleeping difficult, which has affected self-confidence.
Despite best efforts, professional dental treatment beyond financial means is needed. A treatment plan totaling 12000 dollars has been provided by the dentist. This treatment is not merely cosmetic; it is essential for both physical and emotional well-being, and it will restore a normal quality of life.”
I’m not done with life. I want to work at something meaningful, to keep making my contribution to this world, to the people who have made it possible for me to go on in spite of my kidneys failing. None of us can ever give back enough to cover the debt we incurred in just being born and being able to experience this life this universe. We can only take that up with God , ie the cause of things.
meanwhile we all want to leave a legacy. mine so far is 2 daughters and a son. It is also 50 yrs of autobody repair. framework, painting, dent repair, suspension, electrical, mechanical, complete restorations. Certainly, adds up to over a thousand cars over the years. but it will go unnoticed, unremembered.
I’m hoping to go on to another career, to be useful to others rather than a burden. getting the proper dental care is crucial to this endeavor.
