I created this fundraiser on behalf of Darnell’s’ sister, Darnice and for their family. We have worked/known each other for 5 years. She is a beautiful, faithful human that loved and was so proud of her Brother.
Deputy Darnell Calhoun, 30, made the ultimate sacrifice this past Friday 1/13 afternoon while responding to a domestic violence and child custody call in Lake Elsinore. He’s a husband, a son, a father and brother and dear friend to so many. He leaves behind his wife, Vanessa , 2 young sons and another son on the way. He always was a service to others and taking the ultimate sacrifice for the good of his community will not be forgotten.
He was so young and had so much to live for. Darnell started real estate in 2017, then transitioned over to serve other as a Deputy Sheriff in San Diego County in 2019, then was stationed to Lake Elsinore when he started with Riverside county late last year. This is Such a tragic and senseless loss. We are all hurting with this news and heartbroken.
His family are also pillars in the Murrieta community with a strong Christian faith (please go support their family owned business, Calhoun’s Family Texas BBQ). They all lead by example always there to guide and be there for others. Darnell loved and served Jesus with his church community joyfully. He will be remembered as a son, a brother, a grandson, a nephew, a cousin, a son-in-law, a brother-in-law, and a loyal friend.
