Help Me Finish My Breast Cancer Treatment
Since February, I have been facing one of the hardest battles of my life: breast cancer.
The past several months have been filled with treatments, appointments, difficult days, and more uncertainty than I ever imagined. Through it all, I have continued to fight and do everything I can to get to the other side of this.
I am now very close to the finish line. I have one final treatment left, followed by approximately six weeks of recovery.
Unfortunately, getting to that finish line comes with a financial challenge I never expected to face.
I have exhausted all of my FMLA, sick time, vacation time, and Short-Term Disability. That means I will have no income during my six-week recovery period. After that, I will also need to go approximately one additional month without income in order to repay the health insurance premiums that have been paid on behalf of my family while I have been unable to work.
So while I am finally nearing the end of treatment, I am facing a difficult financial gap at the exact moment when my focus needs to be on healing.
I am asking for help getting through these final months.
Funds raised will help my family cover essential expenses such as housing, utilities, groceries, transportation, medical and household costs, and our health insurance premiums while I am recovering and unable to earn an income.
Asking for help is not easy for me. I have always wanted to be able to take care of things on my own, but cancer has taught me that sometimes strength means allowing people who care about you to stand beside you.
If you are able to donate, any amount truly makes a difference. A small donation can help cover a meal, a bill, groceries, or part of a monthly expense. If you aren’t in a position to donate, sharing this campaign with your friends, family, coworkers, or social network would mean just as much to me.
I have fought so hard to get to this point, and I am determined to finish this journey.
I just need a little help getting through the final stretch.
