UPDATE: April 11, 2024 from Betty Hill

Tim got to come home on Wednesday, April 10th. We are so glad he’s home!

UPDATE: April 9, 2024 from Betty Hill

He’s doing better his pain is better.
His chest tubes came out on Monday, his lung is still leaking some air. X-ray this morning showed more free space than the day before. They are going take another x-ray at noon. I am praying 🙏 that they don’t need to put the chest tubes back in. Tim is eager to get home but is agreeing with the doctor, doctor knows best.

UPDATE: April 5, 2024 from Betty Hill

Update on Timothy Tweet: extreme pain is a big part of Tim’s life, it’s part of a thoracotomy and lobectomy MS sorry. Plus, the 2 other procedures he had done in surgery.
Tim is doing much better; he was up and walked 3 times yesterday and started respiratory therapy this morning. Dr. Meyer’s PA was in yesterday and talked about a water seal as he is still leaking air, the lung hasn’t quite sealed entirely as of yet.
It’s going to be a long recovery but I already see big strides he has taken.
I love Tim so much and can’t Waite until he’s home. Its going to be slow and study healing.
Thank you for all your prayers and support 🙏 ❤️ we both greatly appreciate all that you are doing.
I will be going back to the Heart Hospital tomorrow, the brakes are going out in the explorer. So I will have to drive the truck.
So much coming up with the fundraiser, silent auction and the pancake feed.
Please reach out if there is anyway you can help, donations, donate your time helping with up coming event. Even help with cleaning, or outside work. Things Tim before surgery.
Love each and everyone of you

Tim Tweet was diagnosed with Stage 1 Squamous cell carcinoma in the lungs (Stage 1 lung cancer) in mid-January of 2024. At his appointment on January 15th, a tumor that they had noticed 6 months before, had more than doubled in size from approximately 1.1 cm (.4”) to over 2.5 cm (1”). Tim is going to have a pulmonary lobectomy to remove the tumor along with the nearby lymph nodes on April 3rd, 2024. Which will, ideally, take care of most of the tumor. Tim will need to follow up with radiation after he is healed from surgery.

We are planning a benefit meal for Tim and his family soon. This online fundraiser is to help take care of early bills and possibly help recoup some costs of the fundraiser meal so the family can see more of the money to help with expenses.  Please share this far and wide and donate if you feel compelled and are able. Any amount will help, and the family is whole-heartedly appreciative of any help they receive.

Tim is a very generous man who loves to help other people in any way he can. Now is our turn to help Tim! Our goal is lofty, but many hands make light work!

Thank you!

MORE ABOUT TIM

Tim Tweet is engaged to Betty Hill and lives in Cottonwood, MN. Tim grew up near Osakis, MN and lived in Arizona for a time before he decided to move back with Betty to Betty’s home area near Cottonwood, MN in 2013. Betty and Tim have been together for 24 years and Tim loves being a grandpa to Betty’s 15 grandchildren that range in age from 9 to 23 with a great grandchild on the way! Tim and Betty are selflessly generous people that will go the extra mile for anyone in need.

Tim has made a living cooking meals that you may have enjoyed, whether you realize it or not! He has worked at LeRoy’s in Cottonwood, and currently is a chef at Prairie’s Edge Casino and Resort.

Tim has worked hard his entire life to make his own way, but right now medical bills are mounting. Following his surgery, Tim will be out of work (and a paycheck) for a minimum of 6-7 weeks. And, as most of us unfortunately know all too well, there will be ongoing appointments and care for months to come.

Again, as we all know, health insurance is a problem that most of us have had to deal with at one time or another in our adult lives. Tim has health insurance, but deductibles and premiums are high. Making taking time off work that much harder.

Tim has been treating basal cell and squamous cell carcinoma of the skin for almost 30 years. The squamous cell carcinoma that Tim has been treating for almost half his life is a type of cancer that is known to spread into the lungs and brain. Because of Tim’s constant monitoring, the tumor was caught early, and Tim can hopefully recover quickly from his surgery. With modern medical miracles and many prayers, we are hoping that Tim kicks this lung cancer to the curb!

We will be having a pancake brunch from 10:00am-2:00pm at the Lakeview Schools Commons on May 19th, 2024. Free will donation, and all donations go directly to Tim and his family! We will also be having a silent auction during this brunch!
