Baby Dustin made his arrival on August 15, 2023 and has already proven to be God’s miracle! After experiencing some complications after birth, Baby Dustin had to go to the NICU in Fort Worth instead of home with his family. There he was diagnosed with Hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE), a type of brain damage. It’s caused by a lack of oxygen to the brain before or shortly after birth. It affects the central nervous system. But have we mention he has proven to be a miracle? In just 2 weeks of being in the NICU Baby Dustin fought hard for his life, being weaned off sedation, feeding tubes, oxygen, etc. He is a fighter but he has not been released yet, and such an extended stay in the NICU means mommy and daddy, Darren and Sara King, have been by his side, staying in a hotel by the hospital, and driving back to Corsicana to check on the rest of their 10 kids. During this time the Kings have been unable to work as their priority has been focused on Baby Dustin. The Kings are a huge part of our community and give the shirts off their back to help those in need. It is our time to come along side them during this difficult season.
