Hello! I am Sharon Conley. My husband David is on his second round of cancer. Two years ago he was diagnosed with esophageal cancer. Once he finished radiation and chemo, the drs ordered a scan and found he also has stage 4 metastatic pancreatic cancer. On top of that he has COPD and is on oxygen almost 24-7. We are struggling to stay ahead of things but medical bills are piling up. There are still monthly bills. We still have a mortgage and a home equity loan. We have never paid any bills late. Unfortunately we know the eventual outcome of David’s diagnosis. We are worried about continuing to pay the mortgage as his pension does not continue if he is no longer here. Our 5 children and grandchildren have been tremendous help. I don’t know what we would do without them. We also have legal guardianship of a great granddaughter. She has been with us off and on since she was born and full time since she was 5. She will now be 17 this summer and a senior in high school. She is planning on college and becoming a physician. We are so proud of her. David is trying hard to be here for her high school graduation. She is a huge help to us. She has been a joy in our life every day. Unfortunately one day she said, “Grandma I’m actually watching my grandpa die.” My heart broke for her. I know many others have struggles and maybe even more than us. I actually have hesitated to submit this but every day that goes by adds so much worry about making ends meet. Especially worry about making the house payment. But any help that can come our way is so so greatly appreciated.
