My name is Alexandera (Allie) and as I turned 28 years old this past August, I had my world turned upside down. I was diagnosed with stage 3 triple negative breast cancer. This is a very aggressive growing cancer that has spread to my lymph nodes. The mass in breast has been debilitating and has left me working only part-time.
I wish more than anything that this was not happening. I have a positive outlook on life and while my health should be my focus right now, the healthcare system does not make it easy for that to be my only concern. Unfortunately, I am without medical insurance at the time of my cancer diagnosis. The cost of cancer treatment is extraordinary.
It is very difficult for me to put this on-line and ask for financial support. However, making myself vulnerable may be part of my cancer journey. To humble myself and understand that it is good to accept love and financial support from those who love me, and their friends or family is touching.
I am so blessed to have my family and friends by my side. However, keeping me alive will take more financial assistance than I have or can find privately. My promise: any money raised here will be used entirely to go for treatments, care, and associated medical costs in my fight against breast cancer. Above the chemo treatment, there will also have to be a surgery and reconstruction surgery.
