I am a U.S. Army veteran, and I’ve worked hard all life. I’m 69 years young and today I find myself in a very serious financial mess. Because of a series of unbelievable financial misfortunes that were beyond my control, my house is in a pre-foreclosure status, where my only option is to pay the lender $17,650 by the 30th of this month: September. My children and I have lived here in this home for over 10 years. I raised 3 children as a single parent for the last 16 years of which 2 are still living at home with me. My 16-year-old daughter in high school and my 21-year son, a sophomore in college. The last 10 months has aged me a good 10 years.
Briefly; this started when I notified my bank of 42 years of fraudulent activity in my account. There were 5 events over 2 months, each one different than the last but still fraud. After the 5th time they froze my accounts and assets for almost 5 months. Having no access to your own money was a nightmare. I then suffered a severe concussion and could only work in my business part time for 6 months. Then, my wife of 4 years filed for divorce and left. Then 2 months ago, my Multiple Sclerosis that I’ve had for 48 years without any problems, flares up and progressed to the disease’s 3rd and final stage of Primary Progressive M.S. Over the last 3 months I went from being able to do anything and everything to being completely wheelchair and homebound, adding that I’m now a rapidly developing quadriplegic. Of course, I was forced to close my business, and I lost the Income that went with it. I can honestly say that I hope no one ever goes through a year like I did. I want nothing more than to save my house. Of course, all my other bills are months behind, but the house is most important.
I would be ever so grateful for any contribution you would be willing to share. Any amount would get me closer to not losing my home. Thank you and God Bless.
