This is the daily reality for a resilient and courageous mother who has given everything she has to care for her children. Her children are 15, 10, and 9. While the 15-year-old has significant trauma-related challenges and special needs, the 10- and 9-year-old—both of whom she adopted from her brother—are developmentally functioning at the emotional level of 5-year-olds.
Both younger children have chromosomal and neurological conditions that require lifelong care. They are still in diapers. The 10-year-old engages in dangerous behaviors, including eating non-food items like lightbulbs and earbuds, and harming himself—literally, not figuratively. These are not isolated incidents; they are part of the complex, daily reality of raising children with severe medical, cognitive, and emotional needs.
She cannot work outside the home—not because she doesn’t want to, but because she must be available every moment of every day to respond to school calls, attend therapy and doctor appointments, manage crises, and fiercely advocate for her children’s needs. She lives in constant alert mode, fighting for services, for stability, for survival.
Her home is deteriorating and no longer meets the basic needs of her family. Her car is old and unreliable. She has no respite care, no extra hands, no safety net. And yet, somehow, she keeps going. She grows her own food. She hunts and stocks her freezer with deer meat to feed her children. She gives them love, structure, and safety—everything she can.
But this family has lived through even more heartbreak. After escaping years of spousal abuse, her ex-husband followed her and, in an unimaginable act of violence and trauma, ended his life in a tree in their front yard. She and the children discovered him as they were leaving for school. That moment changed their lives forever—and they are still learning how to heal from it.
This fundraiser is to give this extraordinary mother and her children the stability, dignity, and peace they deserve:
- A safe, livable home that supports their daily needs
- A reliable vehicle to reach medical appointments and school
- Funds for ongoing and future care, as the children will need lifelong support
- A chance to breathe—to step out of survival mode and into healing
This is not a story of helplessness. This is a story of fierce love, unimaginable strength, and quiet heroism in the face of constant adversity.
Please consider helping this family move from simply surviving to truly living. This mother has done everything right. She fought to protect her kids, care for them, and build a life—but she cannot do it alone anymore.
Please don’t wait. Every dollar brings them one step closer to safety and stability. Every share helps. Time is not a luxury they have.
Help this family go from barely surviving to finally healing. Please donate if you can and PLEASE SHARE on social media, links at bottom of page.
With deep gratitude,
