Hi everyone my name is Dawn Bradley,
I was diagnosed with stage four lung cancer in December of 2023. I was told that I had six months to live. I was devastated and felt lost. I prayed for a miracle and in March of 2023 my diagnosis was changed and I having been fighting stage three lung cancer since then. I have completed my radiation and chemotherapy and I am waiting to start my immune therapy. Keeping my insurance is essential to my treatment and my survival. I have been struggling to pay my insurance so that I can keep my health insurance through my work. I have finally been approved for SS disability but I won’t receive a payment for almost a month. I am about to lose my COBRA if I do not make a payment by the end of the month. I hate to ask for help but honestly I don’t know what else to do. I have applied for medicaid but have not received an answer. Although I have been approved for SS disability, I will have to wait two years before I am eligible for Medicare. Leaving me with one option and that is keeping my health insurance through COBRA. I have explored other options but unfortunately I have no other choice but to rely on some outside help. If you can contribute anything to help me during this difficult time, I would really appreciate it.
