Being an active person, and lover of the outdoors, being told you have cancer can turn your world upside down.
I was diagnosed with Stage 3 ovarian cancer. It happened so fast. I went to the doctor complaining of lower back pain, next thing I know I’m having emergency surgery. They did a hysterectomy and took part of my intestine: several swollen lymph nodes and tumors around my liver. Now I face a summer of chemo, instead of a summer of riding.
I have been out of work for a month now and will be out for a little while longer. When I do go back, it’ll be extremely part-time. We all know that times are tough out there. With no income and a pile of bills, I have made the decision to turn for help.
I am extremely grateful for the emotional support I get from my family. I know I will beat this and will be stronger than ever. Thank you for reading.
