I work in the health care field taking care of others confined to nursing homes. I love my patients but with COVID the work staff was reduced and I am out of work for now. Shortly before being laid off I injured my knee but continued to work Now I found out that I have torn meniscus in both knees and need surgery to correct the problems I applied for workman’s compensation but was denied. I have some insurance that will cover 80% of the cost but my co-pay will be almost $3000.00. I do not see how I am going to be able to pay that without working and with my knee injuries I am not able to work. I am receiving temporary disability but it is not enough.
Any help you could give would be appreciated. All I want is to have this surgery and get back to my patients as soon as possible.
