Venus was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer and her family is asking for financial support to help mitigate costs of her medical treatment.
Receiving this diagnosis less than a year after giving birth to her second child initially hit Venus very hard. However, due to the severity of her diagnosis, Venus has had little time to process what was happening or even tell many of her friends and family as she needed to begin treatment right away.
Despite having quality health insurance, expenses associated with the radiology and diagnostic studies are not completely covered by her health plan. Venus has already had to pay thousands of dollars for out-of-pocket medical expenses. Additionally, dissatisfied with care received at facilities in the D.C. area, Venus’ treatment is managed by MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX. Flights, lodging, and food related to numerous follow-up appointments have been additional accrued expenses.
Lastly, although Venus continues to work from home, eventually she will need to take time off due to physical effects of chemotherapy and surgery to remove any remaining cancer cells. Funds from your donation will also be used for childcare of her 3-year-old and 18-month-old children in addition to household necessities.
While Venus is a very private and strong person, her family knows she needs more support in this journey and are grateful for any help you can provide. Venus appreciates friends and family reaching out, however; it can be overwhelming for her to respond so we ask for your patience and understanding during this difficult time.
Thank you in advance!
Sincerely,
