My father will be 80 years old this October. He started off life as a migrant worker growing up. He settled down when he had kids and worked in a foundry for 25 years. He was and is still a hard worker. He has metastatic lung cancer. He is almost out of options. He has never owed anybody in his life. He has always saved up and paid in full for whatever we needed. When his union was on strike, he returned to the fields to earn money for his family of 6. He has always been there for our family. I was never worried about money growing up because I knew my father would provide. He just found out that his cancer has gone from 3 “spots” to over 20. His breathing is labored but he still “works” around the house. He says it may take him longer because he has to catch his breath but the job gets done. He has undergone a lobectomy, immunotherapy, radiation, immunotherapy again and now the doctors are deciding if chemo will work again. He knows what his chances are and he’s “ready” just in case. His main concern is not dying at this point, his stressor is “how am I going to pay the medical bills before I die?” My father should not have to be worried about bills at this stage in his life, especially when he worked so hard to NOT be in debt. Please help my father. I would appreciate it. Thank you!
