To be honest I don’t know how we got here in this situation but here we are…2 years ago we moved to Florida and everything was fine for awhile. My husband is a real estate agent & I’m a housewife, & our 20 yr old cleans vacation rentals. I haven’t worked for the last handful of years because of a severe panic & anxiety disorder. I should honestly be on disability for it but I’m scared poopless to start the process.
So recently my husband got involved with supposedly one of the top brokerages and the top real estate team in the state, they made a lot of promises & guarantees, that haven’t happened. On top of that connected him with clients that weren’t serious that he had to spin his wheels on, yeah that happens sometimes, but on top of that our landlord shows up out of nowhere Thanksgiving weekend, demands to come in starts dropping f bombs, not about us but about the property manager. It was all very weird. Long story kinda short, later that evening the property manager says the owner doesn’t want to renew our lease in February because she’s gonna move in her daughters. She said the owner is a little odd…no kidding. Also let me add this house has been a nightmare since we moved in, weird smells, falling apart and so on. But we couldn’t afford to move again. We still can’t. Also last year at this time the owner of the rental we were in told us to leave because she wanted to sell her house. So now for a 2nd holiday season in a row we’re faced with the same situation. It’s honestly been one thing after another. My husband was in a car accident that had set him back. Now recently a real estate deal fell through that we were counting on. So now we don’t have the rent for December it’s due on the 15th. And the property manager says that there is a house around the corner we could move in to, but that owner wants us in Jan 1 but we might be able to negotiate with him for February 1, but we don’t have the 1st month’s rent for that house either. We’ve been denied for personal loans probably because we haven’t been able to pay our credit card bills. I should also mention we go doordashing, we had to use that money to pay our $400 water bill, we’ve paid half of the $600 power bill, yeah Polk County in Florida is RIDICULOUS. I’ve looked for at home jobs but I don’t qualify. I also have made FIVERR gigs offering social media video ads & graphic design services. I’m starting to freelance slowly but surely but won’t help currently obviously. My husband has looked for regular jobs but they Won’t help quick enough & it’s a bunch of jobs that wouldn’t even cover our rent. Florida does seem to have low pay for regular jobs, which is why it’s usually a better idea to work for yourself or do real estate like my hubby. And his work was going great, he’s amazing and a military Veteran who is passionate about helping Veterans find homes. Our Rent is nuts for both houses is $2400 & they’re not worth it. But we have to deal with whatever house at the moment & we desperately need to pay the rent here & to secure the other house we have to move into. So I hate to do this but we’re so stressed & don’t know what to do. I wake up every morning crying because I’m convinced we’re about to be homeless. So whatever can be donated is very much appreciated.
