Dear friends,
I am a Franciscan brother reaching out to you with an urgent request to support this family. For 27 years, Robin and her husband Jason have exemplified extraordinary faith and resilience. Despite the challenges of Robin’s Cerebral Palsy, and being told they might never have children, they were blessed with four—each a testament to God’s grace and their unwavering perseverance.
Through many trials and triumphs, they have been able to navigate life’s obstacles. Presently, they face desperate circumstances which require immediate attention.  As such, this is the first time in 25 years of being close to their family that I am reaching out on their behalf.  Thankfully, the solution to their struggle is within reach—if we come together to help.
To share their story in more detail, I’ve asked Jason to explain their current situation. Please take a moment to hear their need and join me in supporting this remarkable family.

“My wife Robin and I have been married for 27 years, blessed with four children who daily bring joy to our lives. Our Christian faith has been the cornerstone of our journey, trusting God from day one that He would be the Rock of our relationship, enduring quite a list of trials and triumphs.

Robin was born with cerebral palsy, weighing only four pounds. Her mother was told she would not live through the night, then the week, then the year, and has been bucking trends ever since. She was the first disabled child in her city to receive a mainstream education, following all the way to college, where we met. We dreamed of kids without knowing if she could have any, and four children later, they are each miraculously thriving in their own way.

Over these same years, Robin has undergone multiple surgeries, which combined with the sedentary lifestyle of a wheelchair user, has left her 95% bedridden and in need of full-time at-home aide assistance. To meet this need, I take care of her in between outside nursing staff visits and sporadic, occasional volunteer visitations.

My career to support our family is dedicated to serving and teaching. After being an instructor in New York and the Carolinas, I run a Citizenship program for a school in Memphis that brings students together from fifty zip codes and all walks of life. On top of coordinating service-learning projects, I teach classes on Government, Citizenship, and Religion.

The task of adequately serving my school while providing constant care at home, although immensely rewarding, has become overwhelming because of round-the-clock assistance for twelve years.

I am now in urgent need of support to sustain things. We are so close. The framework is in place. To meet our remaining, immediate financial need for round-the-clock care amounts to $17,280 a year. This support would ensure that my wife receives the minimum care she requires while allowing me to continue providing for our family.

I deeply appreciate your time and consideration. Any assistance would be a tremendous blessing to our family during this critical time.”
