My name is Felicia and I found out 4 months ago that I had pancreatic cancer. I had a whipple surgery where part of my stomach and pancreas was taken out to get rid of most of the cancer. I am still having pain from the surgery and it’s been over 3 months since the surgery. It is a long slow recovery. It took me a while to process everything and I still can’t believe it.
Before I found out I had cancer, I was in and out of the hospital with stomach pain and couldn’t eat. I am currently receiving chemotherapy and not able to work. The chemo really has me tired and nauseous most of the time.
I was very devastated when the doctor told me they found cancer and I cried all day. It’s been very hard on me. I can barely pay my car payment and insurance or buy any necessities because I can’t work. My car needs work too.
I am bed bound most of the time and can barely do anything for myself. Most of the time I’m in bed. The chemo treatments have me tired easily. I was very energetic and could work before I started to get sick from the cancer.
I really need help with my expenses. I have to travel 60 miles every week to the oncologist and for chemotherapy. Sometimes twice a week and the travel cost money. Also, after I’m done with 6 months of chemo, I have radiation everyday for 5 weeks and I have to travel far to the radiation doctor. My mom drive me but we can’t afford gas sometimes to make it there for my chemo treatments. We have to borrow money from family.
Thanks so much for reading my campaign and any help will be appreciated.
