I’m asking for help for my dad, Brian W. Meligan, who is in the final stage of stage 4 cancer.
Nothing prepares you for watching someone you love slowly slip away. My dad is not just a cancer patient — he is my father, my protector, my constant. Seeing him grow weaker every day, knowing there is nothing left to cure him, is a pain I wouldn’t wish on anyone.
Right now, our only wish is to make sure my dad is comfortable, peaceful, and surrounded by love in his final days. But on top of the emotional heartbreak, we are facing an impossible financial reality. My dad has no health insurance and no money to cover the care he desperately needs. The cost of medications, hospice support, and basic end-of-life care is overwhelming, and we simply cannot manage it alone.
It’s devastating to watch someone who has given so much to others worry about bills when they should only be resting. My dad deserves dignity. He deserves comfort. He deserves to spend whatever time he has left without fear or stress.
Asking for help is not easy, but love pushes us to do hard things. Any donation, no matter how small, will help ease this burden and allow us to focus on what truly matters — being with my dad.
If you cannot donate, please consider sharing this or keeping our family in your thoughts. Your kindness, prayers, and support mean more than words can say.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading our story and for standing with us during the most painful moment of our lives.
With love and gratitude,
