MAJOR PLEA FOR ASSISTANCE!
To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing to request rental assistance for my household, which is experiencing significant financial and medical hardship.
My husband, Mark, recently underwent a below‑the‑knee amputation following a major medical emergency of life and death. His recovery requires ongoing care, medical appointments, and daily support, all of which I manage as his primary caregiver. He is unable to work at this time, and his workers’ compensation case is still pending.
On December 1, I experienced an abrupt and involuntary job separation, which eliminated our primary source of income. I have been actively seeking new employment and have submitted applications for medical and food assistance.
Still, the processing timelines and limited benefits have created a substantial gap between our income and basic living costs.
My unemployment benefits are currently under review, and I have been informed that the approval process may take time. If my claim is denied, I will need to enter an appeal process, which would further delay any potential income. Even if approved, the benefit amount would be insufficient to cover our essential expenses, and rent remains my most urgent concern.
Despite careful budgeting, we are unable to meet our rent obligation without temporary assistance. Any support provided would help us maintain stable housing while I continue seeking employment and while Mark continues his recovery.
- Two months of rent and utilities (~$3,800)
- Medical equipment and therapy costs
- Transportation for Mark’s appointments
- Basic living expenses while I secure employment
Thank you for your time, understanding, and consideration.
Sincerely,
Shanna & Mark Palmer
