Recently, I received the news that no one is ever prepared to hear: I have cancer. In a matter of moments, life as I knew it changed. What once felt certain suddenly became filled with doctor’s appointments, treatment plans, difficult conversations, and an overwhelming number of unknowns. I am doing my best to stay strong, hopeful, and focused on healing, but this journey is one of the hardest challenges I have ever faced.
My days are now centered around medical visits, tests, treatments, and managing the physical and emotional toll that comes with them. While I am grateful for the care I am receiving, the financial impact has been significant. Even with insurance, there are deductibles, co-pays, medications, travel expenses, and other out-of-pocket costs that add up quickly. In addition, I have had to reduce or step away from work to focus on treatment and recovery, which has placed even more strain on my finances.
I am starting this fundraiser to help ease that burden so I can concentrate fully on fighting this disease and regaining my strength. The funds raised will go toward medical bills, treatment-related expenses, transportation, and everyday living costs during this time.
